Sporat ("the App") is a real-time Helsinki tram tracker. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Location data: The App accesses your device location to center the map on your position. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Subscription data: If you subscribe to Sporat Premium, purchase and subscription management is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status but no payment details.
Analytics: To see which features get used, so we know what to improve and build next, the App records actions such as opening a stop or a tram, choosing lines, adding a favourite stop or starting lock screen tracking, together with your language, app version, subscription status and a few settings (such as how many favourite stops you have). Analytics data is linked to a random identifier for this installation, never to your name or email, and contain no stop names, coordinates or advertising identifiers. On by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Analytics. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the App; turning it off is how you object.
Crash reports: When the App crashes, a technical report (device model, system version, app version and where in the code the crash happened) is sent so the bug can be fixed. It carries the random identifier the App uses for purchases, not your name or email. On by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Crash reports. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the App working.
Lock screen tracking: While you track a tram on the lock screen, the tram and a push token for that Live Activity are stored so progress updates can be sent. The record is removed when tracking ends.
Feedback: If you send feedback, your message and optional email are stored so we can read and reply to it. Diagnostic details are attached so we can reproduce the problem: app version, device model, system version, language, an installation identifier, a pseudonymous RevenueCat customer ID (lets us find your subscription, e.g. for a refund), your settings (such as selected lines and the number of favourite stops), the screen you were on, your recent actions in the app and recent errors. No location is attached. You can see exactly what is included before sending by tapping “Show what's included” in the feedback form.
App opens: We count app opens locally on your device to time support prompts. This count is not transmitted.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Google Firebase: App configuration, lock screen tracking updates, feedback storage, crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase, with advertising features, Google signals and advertising identifiers off), unless you turn them off. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
RevenueCat: Manages subscription status. Subject to RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Mapbox: Provides map tiles. Subject to Mapbox's privacy policy.
HSL: Tram position data is sourced from HSL open data APIs. No user data is sent to HSL.
App preferences (selected tram lines, favourite stops, privacy choices, app open count) are stored locally on your device and stay until you uninstall the App.
Analytics data is kept at event level for 14 months, after which only aggregate counts remain. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Lock screen tracking records are removed when tracking ends. Feedback is kept while we act on it.
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, deletion or restriction of processing, and you may object to processing at any time. You can turn analytics and crash reports off in Settings → Privacy; collection stops from that moment. For other requests, contact us at the address below.
The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App is suitable for all ages.
We may update this policy at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
